SOLD: A Seller's Journey

As the old saying goes, you can't truly appreciate someone's journey, until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Well, my dear Sellers (and those considering selling in the near future), I can tell you that I now have a new appreciation for you and the seller's experience.  

It all began one night after a harmless "Honey, we should go look at this house I saw today." The days that followed were a blur of activity, which I am sure I have mentally blocked for the sake of self-preservation.  There were bank appointments, frantic cleaning, sleepless nights and staging rooms rendering them virtually unlivable. Thoughts like "What if our house doesn't sell?? YIKES!! What if it DOES?".  

Day One on the market: NOT. ONE. SHOWING. Devastation ensues.
Day Two: 4 showings!!! WOW!  We're amazing. Bring on the offers.
Day Three: Nothing. Total Silence. "Our house is the worst. It's never going to sell. Do we smell?"
Day Four: More showings...cautious optimism.
Day Five: Random, out-of-the-blue offer that we accepted on the spot. 


I am sure many of you can relate to the roller-coaster that is home selling. And, I am so glad that I can now bring this new perspective to the seller experience. 

So, now we pack! So many more emotions in the days ahead.  Complete "kid-on-Christmas-morning" excitement about our new home (I seriously do daily, Stage-5 stalker drive-bys...sorry). Totally over-whelmed by the tasks ahead: mortgage appointments, lawyers, insurance, packing, etc. A little bit of sadness – this was our first home many "firsts" here, it's going to be a little bit sad to leave it behind.

So, if you need me, you might find me under a pile of boxes, with my phone on...of course ;)
